So many great rows. I can't wait to show you!!

But until then here is a quilt that our youngest member, Hali, has finished. She embroidered each monkey face into each center. She then did all the piecing. Hali and a cousin did the tying. Then her mom did the binding. It is so large and fluffy!! Great job Hali!!

Rula made this quilt with some of her Halloween fabric. She loves Halloween!!

September Meeting

A bunch of fun show and tells this month.
Karyli made this block. It is part of a quilt she is making for a friend.

What a cute baby blanket!!

Rula's son was on a mission for our church. He kept sending her boxes of ties. So she made this great quilt using some of those ties. You can see how she added to the middle a circle that shows where he served.

Sheryl made a quilt for her brother. He loves boats. He even owns one. She made this quilt with only blue and white.
I hope you can see the quilting. She drew starfish in the open spaces and the rope on the edge. She then used her home machine to quilt it. Her first time. She is now hooked.

June Meeting

We swapped 5 inch squares this month. Each member bought two fabrics 1 yard cut each. Then the fabric was cut into 5 inch squares then swapped around until each member had the same number of squares. What a great variety of colors.

After doing quilts for Hope House the group has decided to do more donating. Over the early summer there were many opportunities to make and donate a quilt to fund raisers. A few of the members got together and came up with this easy fun pattern. Here is a close up of one of the quilts.
Here are a few of us posing with the quilt.

A few show and tells. A fun table runner.
A very scrappy quilt top!

Rula made the following three Christmas quilts. All using the same focus fabrics.

A, B, C's!!

2013 January

A new year and a new start. We have decided as a group this year we are going to work on row quilts. Here is an example of a row quilt. We will have each member make a row of 42 inches wide by any height. We will each have to follow a theme and use a fabric or more from the box plus add 1/4 of a yard of fabric that we used in our own row. That way as the rows are added there is similar fabrics being used. We hold off on showing the rows until the end of the year then each person will get their own post.

Here a few member quilt show and tells.
This one is from Dawn.
Look at her quilting, first try at stippling on her home machine. Great job.
Great colors.
Great lay out!
Gaylene finished her top from last year. She even has borders on it.

I thought I would add a few pictures of the quilts that PQA and our church took to the Hope House. We were able to take over 100 quilts and pillow cases. The kids treated us to a wonderful concert. We are all so blessed to be a part of it.
